Newark Castle - Swinderby proposed line speed increase and Collingham - Swinderby resignalling

DC said that the business case looked best for 70 mph, the resignalling is proceeding to GRIP3. JB said that 70 mph would hardly be an enhancement, BP added that Midlands Connect had highlighted poor journey times compared with elsewhere.

 

Lincoln level crossings

High Street: Work is going ahead on site with target completion in late Spring 2016.

Brayford: A meeting has been held between Network Rail and Karl McCartney MP to discuss options. The University is developing the Wigford Road site and does not want any work at Brayford to take place before late 2016.

 

Station car parks

Swinderby: Work had started on the car park.

Collingham: The traffic order for yellow lines on the road had been approved, but work had been stopped by Network Rail due to concerns over proximity to the level crossing. DC said that Network Rail has offered to assist Notts in resolving the issue.

Hykeham: An increase in the Section 106 funding contribution had been agreed. JK said that

NKDC is looking to relocate the bus stop within the car park

 

Lincoln Station Area redevelopment

Sarah T and DC had met with Lincoln City Council. Sarah T said that due to reduced funding plans had been revised. The bus station is still going ahead but the new overbridge across the station has been put back to the next phase. The work by EMT on the station is still going ahead.
