Lincoln Business Club September 2026 meeting notes

On Friday 25th September, Lincoln Business Club was back at The Showroom on Tritton Road for our regular breakfast meeting, bringing together members of the local business community for another morning of networking, sponsor presentations and Club updates.

This time, with treats!

As ever, the session opened with round-the-room introductions, giving each attendee ten seconds to introduce themselves and their business before the room settled into the morning’s main events.

And, remember, you can see all the images from the morning through Headshot Toby’s link here:

Sponsor 1 Presentation: Alexis Powell-Howard, Fortis Therapy and Training

This month’s first sponsor slot went to Fortis, the multi-award-winning mental health and wellbeing specialist, represented by Managing Director Alexis Powell-Howard and Development Manager Lauren Eddy.

Fortis works with individuals, couples, families and organisations of every size, offering therapy, training and wellbeing support both face to face and online, alongside wider organisational work such as wellbeing strategy development, reflective practice and trauma response for critical incidents.

The presentation drew on the experience of founder and whose accolades include multiple regional business awards and two TEDx talks exploring what to expect from a therapy session and the value of honest conversation over quick fixes.

Fortis Therapy & Training recently opened its brand-new Lincoln HQ at 98–100 West Parade, in late September 2026. Find out more here: https://fortistherapy.co.uk/lincoln-counselling-services/

Sponsor 2 Presentation: Emma Bowey, The British Hamper Co.

The second sponsor slot was taken by Emma Bowey of The British Hamper Co, giving members a taste of what the business offers.

Yes, she did mention Christmas, but that’s OK. Because she also brought treats for everyone – lemon shortbread, and caramel sea salt fudge.

The British Hamper Company was started in 2014 by James Tod and his parents, Mike and Liz, initially beginning operations out of a barn in Lincolnshire.

The British Hamper Company: ‘Championing Britain’s makers, bakers & growers’. Sharing the best of artisan Britain with the world. See more here: https://www.britishhamper.com/

LBC Golf Day & Social

The Lincoln Business Club Annual Golf Day, in support of Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance, was on Thursday 10th September 2026.

A fabulous day was had by all, with more than £3,500 raised for the LNAA, meaning they can continue their vital services across our region.

Thanks to all our partners this year: Nicholsons Chartered Accountants, Cowens Group and Pro 5 Networking.

Our thanks go to Fortis and The British Hamper Co for sponsoring September’s meeting, to Helen Wheatley for the two-minute spotlight, and to everyone who turned out on a Friday morning to keep Lincoln’s business community connected.
