James Fowler

The Journey Behind the Name

“Metanoia” means a profound shift in mindset – and James has lived it.

Diagnosed with depression at 17, James nearly lost his life to a suicide attempt that same year. Hospitalised and traumatised, he lost three full days of memory – a turning point that didn’t yet signal change. What followed were years of destructive behaviour: heavy drinking, substance abuse, chain smoking, and unstable mental health.

Despite building a career on the outside, the internal struggle remained for decades.

But change came – not all at once, but through journaling, therapy, physical transformation, and brutal honesty.

James is now medication-free. He’s 13 stone, no longer smokes, drinks, or hides from pain. He recently completed a 200-mile endurance ride in a single day and continues to test his mental and physical limits.

His transformation isn’t just about fitness. It’s about learning to live again. And now he helps others do the same – through personal coaching, mindset support, and motivational speaking.
